What is it about the moon?

I always love seeing the moon. Full, quarter, day, night...I am always excited to catch a glimpse of the moon. Maybe it was watching the U.S. land on the moon in 1969, and then seeing us take the first steps on the moon, plant our flag to let the world (and universe?) know we were there first? I am not sure, I just know seeing the moon brings me joy.
